Leningrad region attracted 1.32 trillion rubles at SPIEF

The Leningrad Region has added 1.32 trillion rubles to its investment portfolio during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, according to the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.

The region has signed 30 agreements during the two days of the Forum, most of them are investment agreements.

According to Alexander Drozdenko, the governor of the region, at SPIEF the region signed only those agreements that have already passed the experts' opinion and will be implemented.

"We have counted that almost 90% of agreements signed at previous forums have been implemented. This year we have signed 30 agreements worth more than 1 trillion rubles, and each of them is dear to us. For example, we signed an agreement for 138 million rubles with Blockfire, a young company, for construction of fire extinguishing equipment production in Pikalyovo", - he said.

However, the agreement with the RusGasDobycha company, worth 868 billion roubles, for the construction of the gas and chemical complex in Ust-Luga has become the largest. Both of these documents were worked out based on the one-stop shop principle.

In addition, the EuroChem company will build a methanol plant and a port terminal in the Leningrad region. The volume of investments amounts to 132 billion rubles.

In addition to industrial projects, documents were signed on work in the tourism sector. For example, one of them stipulates resort complexes development in Lomonosov and Vsevolozhsk districts, and in the framework of the second agreement the region joined the inter-regional project "RZD-Invest" on yacht tourism development.
