Oil company Tatneft won the auction for the sale of the largest producer of PET packaging in Russia and Eastern Europe, Ecopet. The transaction amounted to 6.45 billion rubles, the Russian Auction House (RAB) reported.

"The acquisition of Ecopat will allow the company to implement its plans for the development of oil and gas chemical business with the highest efficiency and will contribute to Tatneft's goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions along the entire value chain," Tatneft said.

As it was specified in the RAD, the company purchased "Ecopet" for 6.45 billion rubles, the initial price was 3.75 billion rubles.

The group of companies "Ecopat" - the largest enterprise in Russia and Eastern Europe for the production of granulated polyethylene terephthalate - PET. Revenue for 2020 was 14.2 billion rubles. Ecopat includes a production complex, a trading house and the Baltic Industrial Park with a total area of 132 hectares.The Ekopet factory was commissioned in 2011 and manufactures products designed to produce bottles and other types of food and non-food packaging under the Ekopet brand name. The enterprise is a resident of the Special Economic Zone in the Kaliningrad Region.
