An online program to promote regional brands was launched in Russia

Russia has launched an educational online program to promote regional food brands, the first to take it will be the participants of the national contest "Tastes of Russia", the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation said.

"On June 8, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Rosselkhozbank and the Russian State Agrarian Extramural University launched an educational online program to promote regional food brands. It is aimed at developing a wide range of competencies amongst entrepreneurs for the successful implementation of business projects in the production of such products. Training on the platform "Farmer School. RSHB" will be held by participants of the first National contest "Tastes of Russia", - the Ministry reported.

As it was specified in the department, the program includes several basic modules that provide comprehensive knowledge of branding, marketing, organization of offline and online sales, development of services in agrotourism, entering export markets and other areas.

"Last year, on behalf of the President of Russia, the Ministry of Agriculture organized the first national contest "Tastes of Russia", which allowed to form a real gastronomic map of our country, more than 500 unique regional brands took part in it. At the next stage it is important to provide them with comprehensive support and opportunities for further development. The educational program is a part of this big job, it will provide participants and winners of the contest with necessary knowledge for correct positioning and promotion of products on the market, it will allow to master new trade formats and effectively use available resources, to scale their business successfully. As a result, we expect that producers of regional food brands will be able to increase their production volumes and create new points of growth for rural areas, agricultural and gastronomic tourism", said Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.

Upon completion of the course, trainees will receive a certificate from the Russian State Agrarian Extramural University.
