"Kamaz forecasts recovery of the truck market to 70,000 by 2025

Russian truck manufacturer Kamaz has prepared an annual report in which it predicts that the country's truck market will recover to 70,000 units by 2025, compared with about 60,000 units produced in 2020.

"The Russian truck market shrank from 105,000 in 2012 to 36,000 in 2015, increased to 65,000 in 2018 and adjusted to 59,000 in 2020. A rebound to 70 thousand trucks is expected by 2025," the report says.

According to the company, one of the main factors of market recovery may be pent-up demand. Kamaz says that now 66% of the truck fleet is over 10 years old and the average age of the fleet is 17 years old. Among the factors, named by the company, are implementation of national projects and investments in infrastructure and construction.

The company itself plans to increase its market share up to 51% in the current year thanks to the growth of sales of its new model range. Now the manufacturer occupies 48% of the market, last year Kamaz produced more than 32 thousand vehicles.
