Head of federation of restaurateurs: business will reduce financial losses after staff vaccination

Vaccination of service sector employees, including personnel of cafes and restaurants, will allow businesses to reduce financial expenses and, if allowed by Rospotrebnadzor, to go without masks and gloves, said Igor Bukharov, head of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers, to the Made in Russia project.

On Wednesday, the chief sanitary inspector of Moscow obliged 60% of people employed in services and trade, transport, medicine and housing services to be vaccinated. The owners of such companies shall organize vaccination among their personnel by July 15 with the first component of the preparation, and by August 15 - with the second one.

Moscow and its Moscow region have also passed the corresponding decision.

"As of today we have spent a lot of money, recommended by Rospotrebnadzor and required by the Moscow government. We are talking about regulations on the use of personal protective equipment and regulations on prevention and cleaning. It's very expensive and it will disappear," he said.

The head of the federation was positive about the decision of Moscow and Moscow suburbs authorities to necessarily vaccinate most of the service sector employees because of the increase in cross-infection.

"I understand that there is an increase in cross-infection: people are lying in hospitals, additional beds are being opened. What's positive about 60% being vaccinated? This means that we will not spend money on personal protective equipment. I understand that in case of Rospotrebnadzor decision, it will be allowed to work without masks and gloves. In this case, the personnel will only feel better," Bukharov added.

He said that some companies now encourage employees who are vaccinated against coronavirus to get cash bonuses. Many restaurateurs, he said, give discounts to guests who have been immunized.
