Moscow mayor's office allows businesses to suspend employees who refuse to vaccinate

The Moscow government has supported the business community's proposal to suspend from work without pay employees who refused to be vaccinated against covid-19, Sergei Mironov, a commissioner in the restaurant business in the capital, told reporters.

"Discussed the situation with the employees: can we suspend them if they refuse to be vaccinated. We received a comment that we can suspend them without pay and they will not be punished because of the epidemiological situation," he said after the meeting with the authorities.

Earlier in Moscow there has been introduced compulsory vaccination for workers in the service sector. It concerns catering establishments, beauty salons, fitness clubs, cinemas, as well as employees of transport, housing and utilities services, MFC and others. Organizations must ensure that at least 60% of employees are vaccinated.
