Greek tour operator Mouzenidis Travel Greece cancelled tours of Russians worth 1 billion rubles from the end of June, says "Kommersant" citing a source in the travel market.
With an average booking price of 700 euros we are talking about 17 thousand tours which have been canceled. Most of them were planned before the introduction of restrictions due to covid-19. And tourists do not always manage to get their money back: tour operators change planned trips unilaterally, without offering alternatives. Organization of tours for new clients by Greek operator will be suspended until 31 July.
The suspension may be connected with the change of the management and the ongoing reorganization after the death of the Mouzenidis group owner Boris Mouzenidis.
As a result, the obligation to compensate for the cancelled tours have Russian tour operators, explain the publication's interlocutors. According to the government's decision, they have to fulfill it until the end of 2021.
