Refunds and Cancellations: Russians are cancelling tickets and vouchers en masse
The number of cancelled tours as well as rail and air ticket cancellations increased significantly in Russia in June. Such conclusions are published in a new study by Raiffeisenbank, which was based on transactions of more than 2 million customers from 300 cities.
"The amounts of refunds have increased and the number of tickets surrendered was a record," TASS cites the data.
The most active refunds were recorded in railway transportation - their amount exceeded 55.5 million rubles. This compares with March 2020, when the amount of refunds was 56 million rubles, experts said.
Returns of air tickets in June were at the level of September - October 2020.
Raiffeisenbank noted that refunds of travel tickets remained the highest since April of this year. Since this month Russians have returned the maximum number of vouchers, the amount of refunds was almost three times higher than in March. The average cost of a returned trip has increased from 14.5 thousand to 21.5 thousand rubles.
