Moscow Technopolis resident will save 25% on equipment imports

The manufacturer of medical devices Gematech (resident of Technopolis Moscow) has received permission to apply the free customs zone procedure on its territory. This will allow the company to save about 25% of the cost of imported equipment on customs fees and taxes, said Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow.

He said that now on the territory of Technopolis within the framework of the offset contract the company builds the plant, where they will produce medical products for stoma patients.

"The investor has already invested more than 700 million rubles in the creation of the enterprise. Now the resident will be able to take advantage of the free customs zone procedure. As a result, the cost of imported equipment required for the new production will be reduced by a quarter", - the press service of the department quotes Prokhorov.

As General Director of Technopolis Gennady Dyogtev pointed out, the customs control zone will be organized in the production area and it will occupy about two thousand square meters, which is about 90% of the total production area. He specified that within it, it will be possible to operate imported production equipment without paying additional fees for importation into Russia. Also there will be a production hall with two production lines and a warehouse for the finished products.

According to the plans, the enterprise will operate on machines of improved design, which will be manufactured abroad according to the company's individual drawings.

"By the time we reach design capacity in 2023, we will be able to produce more than three hundred thousand products of 44 items per month. This will provide the capital's healthcare system with 100% domestic medical products for stoma patients," concluded Nikita Shumaylov, General Director of Gematech.
