The first batch of Russian vaccine against covid-19 Sputnik Lite arrived at Damascus airport on July 24.

Syria received 250,000 doses of the vector vaccine. In addition, Russia supplied 1 million laboratory tests to detect coronavirus infection.

The Sputnik Lite vaccine is the first component (recombinant human adenovirus serotype 26 (rAd26)) of the Sputnik V vaccine. The efficacy of the single-component Sputnik Lite vaccine is 79.4% based on the results of data analysis of the Russians immunized with the drug from the 28th day after immunization in the period from December 5, 2020 to April 15, 2021.
