A robot for selling SIM cards appeared in Moscow

A robot for selling SIM cards has appeared in Moscow. It was developed by the Russian company Promobot and the telecom distributor GoldenSIM.

Oleg Kivokurtsev, development director of Promobot, said that the prototype had already been put into operation.

"A key feature of the robot is remote self-identification technology, thanks to which customers can get sim cards on their own. The robot gives the sim card to the client and gives instructions on how to register, the client registers through the robot or a mobile app and activates the sim card," TASS quoted him as saying.

The robot can tell how to download the application and register in the application, as well as maintain a dialogue on any topic in Russian, English and Spanish.

It is noted that the device will be daily transported to different points in the city - it can be found in airports, shopping centers or train stations.

If the pilot project is successful, there are plans to purchase ten such robots, which will work in different Russian cities.

"Promobot" was founded in 2015 in Perm. The company is the largest manufacturer of autonomous service robots in Europe. They have been exported to 40 countries, where they work as administrators, promoters, consultants, guides and concierges.
