According to Ilya Shestakov, head of the Federal Agency for Fisheries, Russia is experiencing "explosive growth" in industrial salmon farming, as in the past five years, its volume has almost tripled, and its share in the overall production structure has passed 30%. Due to that fact the industry has managed to substitute a significant portion of imports.
