The level of conflict in business environment in Russia in the second quarter of 2021 broke a new record, writes RBC referring to a joint study of investment company A1 and the Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo".

According to estimation of analysts, the conflict index has grown to 2,21 from 1,96 in the first quarter. And if earlier it was growing due to the economy emerging from the restrictions imposed during the pandemic, now experts explain it by the redistribution of spheres of influence in the market and the change in the generation of players.

At the same time, the dynamics of the conflict rate growth has slowed down: the relative increase in the index compared to the previous quarter was only 12%, the authors of the research note. This is due to the fact that Russian business may have approached the peak in the number and level of intensity of corporate disputes, the experts explain.

According to the research, Moscow, St. Petersburg, the Crimea, Tuva and Khakassia are traditionally the most conflict-prone regions. The leaders in the reduction of conflicts are Kabardino-Balkaria, Tver, Murmansk and Kaluga regions.
