Assistant to the Head of Rosselkhoznadzor Artem Daushev met with the Director of Fisheries and Aquaculture Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Nigeria Umo Ime Sampson.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed the supply of Russian fish products to Nigeria. Artem Daushev noted that the volume of exports from Russia has increased this year," the Rosselkhoznadzor website said in a statement.

One of the negotiation topics also became prospects for mutual cooperation, including development of fishery and aquaculture and safety of fish products. After the epidemic situation stabilizes, the parties intend to consider the possibility to conduct visits to exchange experience in these areas.

Representatives of Nigeria pointed out the quality and safety of goods that are imported into the country. This is also confirmed by the studies of the fish products, which come to Nigeria. The Nigerian side also noted the high capacity of the local market.
