Moscow company upgrades the line of industrial microchips for the Arctic

Mikron is upgrading production of industrial microcircuits for use in extreme conditions, said Alexander Prokhorov, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.

He reminded that Mikron was a resident of Technopolis "Moscow". The company accounts for about 30% of output in the microelectronics cluster in the first half of this year.

"The company plans to upgrade a line of power management microchips used in industrial automation equipment, medical equipment, as well as in equipment for use in extreme conditions: from Arctic latitudes and deep-sea operations to space," the department's press service quotes Prokhorov as saying.

According to Gennady Degtev, Director General of Moskva, the modernization, which will improve technical characteristics and economical parameters of chips and expand the range of their use, will take three years.

The company received 150 million roubles in subsidies from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education to carry out the work.
