Engineering exports from Moscow grew almost 1.5 times

Moscow machine-building manufacturers have increased exports almost by half, to 4.6 billion dollars, in the first half of this year compared to last year, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Vladimir Efimov.

"Exports of engineering industry products this year began to actively recover from the pandemic and reached $4.59 billion in the first half of the year, which is 46.7% more than in the first half of 2020, and almost 15% higher than in the same period of 2019," the press service of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy quoted him as saying.

Efimov attributed this growth primarily to an increase in demand for equipment and parts.

Among the importers are the countries of the near abroad, South-East and South Asia, Europe and North Africa. However, China (over 483 million dollars), Kazakhstan (480.1 million dollars), Belarus (433.6 million dollars), Germany (over 240 million dollars) and Hong Kong (164.43 million dollars) accounted for the largest supplies.

He specified that these categories include filtration equipment and liquid pumps - the supply of these goods abroad increased by 79.2% and 35%, respectively, compared to last year.
