The Rassvet agricultural enterprise has opened a new cattle-breeding complex for 244 heads in Sanchursky District of Kirov Region. This is the first stage of construction of the facility for 488 cows, the press service of the regional government said.

"The new complex uses the technology of tethered cattle housing, a special role is given to details for the comfort of cattle. There is ventilation of the building, light is mounted in such a way that there are no shady spots on the feed table, a system of warm watering is provided, and thick straw bedding for cow comfort", - the report says.

In the new building resource-saving cow traffic technologies are used which allow to reduce cost of milk production significantly. The facilities are well ventilated, and the resting places are protected from wind and precipitation.

It is specified that opening of the second building of the complex will create an entire ecosystem. In 2022, it is planned to build a loose housing calf barn; in addition, documents have already been prepared to obtain a breeding status for the farm.

Igor Vasiliev, Governor of the Kirov oblast, pointed out that the region keeps the leading position in gross milk production in the Volga Federal District and in the country in general.

"In terms of milk yield per cow, our region ranks third among the regions of the Volga Region and fifth in Russia. I'm sure that the leading position will be preserved in the future. To achieve this, we continuously allocate funds for technical and technological modernisation of the industry," he stressed.
