Russian-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry opened in Nigeria

The Russian-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) opened in Nigeria. This was reported by the press service of the Association for Economic Cooperation with Africa.

The head of the Russian-Nigerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Obiora Okonkwo, said at the inauguration that the countries had already established bilateral relations, but there was need to continue to work towards enhancing economic cooperation. "The influential Russian companies that have come to Nigeria have many proposals for our country in the areas of technological exchange, infrastructure, investment," he said.

Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleg Ozerov, said Russia was interested in developing relations with Nigeria. "It is one of the largest and most promising economies where we see a lot of opportunities. We were happy to hear that the Vice President supports the development of bilateral economic relations. Russia has a lot to offer, from new technologies to fertilizers, energy and infrastructure projects, agriculture. We should intensify cooperation in order to achieve tangible results in the run-up to the second Russia-Africa summit in 2022," he said.

The chamber is known to include major Nigerian companies in the mining and steel industries.
