Three new seasons of the Russian animated series "Tima and Toma" will be shot with the participation of China's largest video hosting site Youku Kids (the Chinese equivalent of YouTube, part of Alibaba Holding).

As writes TASS referring to the press service of the group of companies "Riki", Alibaba Group holding will invest in the project. For the new seasons, the producers of "Tima and Toma" have identified the most relevant topics among the target audience: the cartoon characters broadcast positive and safe behavior to children in a playful format.

"Learning through play and healthy relationships with adults are two themes of interest to preschoolers that we have chosen for next season. "Ricky's plans to produce 52 five-minute animated episodes in 3D/2D by July 2023. "We are delighted that our series has received such serious recognition from the Chinese audience, and are happy to develop a partnership with Alibaba Group that will increase the popularity of the Tima and Toma project in China," said Mark Zawadzki, Managing Director of Riki.

It is specified that the cartoon was first shown on Youku in 2018. The project proved successful and was renewed for a second season, which was produced jointly by Riki and Alibaba Cultural Media Co. Ltd. The total number of views of the series so far exceeds 2.5 billion.
