In Kuban over the next decade 50 thousand hectares of land, identified during the inventory, will be put into circulation for planting new vineyards in order to maintain the region's leadership in the industry, said the governor Veniamin Kondratiev.

"Now we produce 45% of all Russian wine and 37% of champagne. They are in demand on domestic and foreign markets. To keep our leadership, we will annually increase the number of new vineyards planted. To do this we will use additional 50 thousand hectares, "- he said.

Kondratyev underlined that the Government of the region pays a lot of attention to the development of winemaking as one of the priorities of agricultural policy.

He also said that from 2022 to 2024 more than 2 billion rubles from regional and federal subsidies will be allocated to support the industry.
