Within 2022 all enterprises in 12 Russian cities with the most polluted air will be obliged to install automated emission sensors, said Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko.

"We have already been instructed by the head of state to change the legislation. That is, we will set one year - until the beginning of 2022 - until the beginning of 2023. This year, 2022, will be to equip enterprises, the main sources of pollution, with such automated systems," she said.

Abramchenko noted that the sensors of emissions will quickly get objective information.

We will remind, 12 cities with the most acute situation are involved in the federal project "Clean Air". The aim of the project is to decrease level of air pollution in big industrial centers, including decrease of total volume of polluting substances emissions in the air in the most polluted cities by not less than 20%. More than 500 billion rubles have been allocated for this purpose. The list of cities participating in the federal project is expected to be significantly expanded by September of 2022.
