In Surgut district of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) grew by 38% in 2021, said the head of the district Andrei Trubetskoy.

"Despite all the difficulties, the number of small and medium-sized businesses including self-employed grew by 1,300 units - 38%. This is a great growth. Most importantly, what is very important for us, tax and non-tax proceeds from small and medium business increased by 11% - from 170 million rubles to 190 million," he said.

Government authorities also noticed that Surgut district was twice acknowledged the best Yugra territory with most favorable investment climate for entrepreneurship development. The district entrepreneurs can receive grants of up to 5 million rubles as support, the amount will grow to 15 million rubles starting from 2022.
