"Agroexpress" between Russia and Kazakhstan will start to run regularly from 2022

The pilot "Agroexpress" successfully delivered agricultural products from Russia to Uzbekistan and returned to the Moscow region. Starting next year, the train will regularly run between the two countries, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade said.

During the pilot trip all the technological and control issues were worked out, tested the transit zones and borders in the "green corridor.

The train has completed the transportation of goods on the route Russia - Uzbekistan - Russia. The train is designed for the fast transportation of agricultural goods between the two countries. For example, from Tashkent to Moscow region, it delivered large consignments of grapes, persimmons, tomatoes and lemons. The project is implemented by the Russian Export Center, Russian Railways, partner logistics companies, customs and phytosanitary services of the corridor member states.

Kazakhstan has already expressed its desire to take part in the project. In addition, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan have expressed their interest in the "Agroexpress", the ministry added.
