The Moscow company Star Smile, working in the field of orthodontics, won the STARTSMILE AWARDS-2019 in the category "Russian innovative breakthrough in dentistry". The award was held as part of the Moscow International Dental Forum "Dental Expo 2019".

The event was organized by Startsmile Group, a multidisciplinary organization which includes a medical marketing and business education agency, a dental expert magazine startsmile.ru, All-Russian ranking of private dental clinics Startsmile TOP and online health and beauty goods store Startsmile SHOP.

Based on the rating of private dental clinics, Startsmile Group selected the most promising and developing participants in five categories: "Discovery of the Year", "Product of the Year", "Social Initiative of the Year in Dentistry", "Philanthropist Dentist of the Year" and "Russian Innovative Breakthrough in Dentistry".

The awards were presented to the winning organizations by Julia Klouda, president of Startsmile Group, and Anna Kostromitinova, head of the project "All-Russia ranking of private dental clinics Startsmile".

Star Smile" eliners is a system of bite correction using a set of individual transparent eliners (orthodontic mouth guards) based on a virtual simulation of tooth movements and 3D-technologies. Currently it is one of the most advanced orthodontic technology.

A special feature of the technology is the gradual movement of the teeth with the help of individual transparent orthodontic braces due to the resilience and shape memory of the plastic product worn by the patient on the teeth.

Before the production of the eliners begins, a simulation of the final result of the treatment is created based on the doctor's treatment plan. Then, on its basis, 3D-printed dental models for each jaw separately with each stage of movement are printed, which serves as a mold for the production of eliners.
