Sputnik V vaccine against coronavirus infection of domestic production was registered in Syria. Thus, the authorities of the country allowed it to be used in the territory of the republic.

Syria became the 34th country to approve the use of the Russian drug.

"Sputnik V" was developed by scientists of Moscow Gamaleya Center. The vaccine became the world's first registered drug against coronavirus. According to the Lancet journal, the drug's effectiveness reaches almost 92%, against the severe course of coronavirus the drug's effectiveness was 100%.

Earlier it became known that the Russian Federation registered the third vaccine against coronavirus infection "CoviVac". Its developer was the Chumakov Federal Scientific Center for Research and Development of Immunobiological Preparations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
